Starting in 2026, the selectboard began ongoing discussions with many members of our community to address needs and goals around local housing development. After many focused conversations, there were several key issues that have emerged that would be useful to explore.
- Potential zoning amendments cross-referenced with the town plan
- Targeted landowner outreach in appropriate areas
- Shared water and wastewater opportunities
- Funding sources and incentive programs
- Cost barrier analysis with comparable models from other rural Vermont communities
The selectboard decided to form an ad hoc committee to engage with these issues. This committee is now in the process of meeting with the intent to report back to the selectboard monthly and work toward recommendations timed for consideration at town meeting.
